Postnatal and Antenatal Aqua Aerobics Classes

Here at Mercy Physiotherapy, we offer both Postnatal and Antenatal Aqua Aerobics classes.

Antenatal Aqua Aerobics can be highly beneficial throughout your pregnancy. The water supports the weight of your body, which reduces the pressure on the pelvic floor. Our Antenatal Classes are also great for maintaining an active lifestyle or improving your mood and mental state.

Postnatal Aqua Aerobics is great for regaining strength after your pregnancy and at the same time, introducing your baby (6weeks to 6months) to water. The first part of this class is spent having a bit of fun in the water with your baby. You then get 30 minutes to feed and settle your young one. Our babysitter takes over from this point, so you are able to get back into the water to exercise along side the physiotherapist.

Postnatal Aqua Aerobics


We are now taking enrolments for the new swimming term commencing on Monday 17th July. You can find further information and the enrolment form here: alternately we do have enrolment forms at reception to complete.

Fiona our baby swim coordinator is available to contact directly either via email or phone 1-7pm weekdays (10am-4pm Wednesdays).


We pride ourselves on providing antenatal and postnatal classes suitable for all fitness levels. For antenatal classes please ensure you have clearance to exercise from your Obstetrician before commencing the class. For postnatal classes please ensure you have had your six week check before you book in. All of our classes are run by qualified Physiotherapists who are recognised by all major health funds. The amount you get back from your health fund varies depending on your cover. Class numbers are capped to ensure there is good supervision. Please book in by phoning our reception on 9271 9422.

Preparation for childbirth class

Here at Mercy Physiotherapy we specialise in treating all women through various stages in life. Pregnancy and giving birth is the most significant event in a lot of women's life. We offer treatment and advice throughout this journey.

Our Preparation for Childbirth Classes run once a month on a Saturday 8.45am - 12.30pm. They are recommended for the woman and her birth partner. They involve a combination of theory and a small practical component going over relaxation techniques, massage and positioning options through labour. They are not designed to replace your other antenatal classes although most women comment the information provided in our classes is more practical.
